We can never get enough of these beautiful export plates, and neither can our customers. Everytime my picker in Japan gets his hands on them, we have to buy them all. This is a porcelain plate made for the Japanese market during the late Ming Dynasty. Referred to as Gosu or Ko-Sometsuke by the Japanese; Gosu being a term for foreign and sometsuke the process of painting in cobalt beneath a glaze, Ko signifying great age. The plate features pairs of animated dragons circling a flaming pearl. Displayed on a custom stand, however, it is durable enough for occasional use. Handwashing recommended.
