A gorgeous handmade shawl 'traje de Nahuala' from the town of Santa Catalina in Solola, Guatemala. Handwoven and embroidered with silk with a traditional pattern typical to those worn by the Mayan women of that region. Made over ten weeks, the piece features an indigo blue and white ground with embroidery in three tones of green. The textile was acquired at the Museo Ixchel del traje Indigena.
