A set of four woven raffia panels from the Kuba people. Handmade of raffia fibers, the foundations are woven by men and later embroidered in intricate patterns by women. Employing an overall balanced pattern, deep plush and even lines, these textiles were made for personal use, trade and dowry. Newly mounted to archival canvas covered in a taupe chenille fabric, ready to hang. Please Note- Backing fabric is the same color on all four panels despite color difference on the lead photo.
